ABC's: The Ern Westmore show 1953-1955
The unique daytime program, The Ern Westmore Show, also known as, The Ern Westmore Glamour Show, was filmed in New York City at ABC's Little Theater off Times Square at 240 West 44th Street. Ern's wife, Betty Westmore, his lovely little red-headed "Girl Friday" also appeared on the show. Dick Hyde was the show's singing star. Each lucky lady chosen was literally showered with beautiful clothes and apparel, jewelry, and accessories. She would return the following afternoon much more attractive and with an all-new personality.
NBC's:The Search for Beauty with Ern Westmore, 1955
NBC's show, The Search for Beauty, was hosted by Ern Westmore. This show was also filmed in New York , at the Ambassador Theatre at 215 W. 49th Street. He would select an audience member that he would make over. At the end of each episode, the makeover results would be revealed as she was serenaded with a lovely song. A few years earlier, the same format had been used on a radio program called Glamour Girl.
