factor and the twins
The twins, Perc and Ern, partnered with Max Factor in 1930 -1934. The "Percern" was the first commercial toupee and was branded with the Max Factor label. Perc and Ern were in charge of the wig department, said to have been the biggest of the day. During this time, 95% of the cosmetics and 100% of the wigs used in the movie studio system were manufactured by Max Factor.

The Westmore's influenced beauty far beyond the salon and the big screen. Hairstyles and Make-up guidelines were all developed by "Make-up Expert", Perc Westmore for the United States Army in 1945.
26 years at Warner Brothers Studio
Universal 1964-1970
At Universal, John Chambers (Makeup Artist, The Munsters) asked Perc to do Al Lewis's (Grandpa Munster) makeup on the hit show, The Munsters. Perc also gave lectures 4 times a day as part of the "Studio Tour" at the Visitor Center. Perc's nephews, Monty, Marvin, and Michael Westmore (Bud's Apprentice) would all take turns assisting at the "Perc Westmore Makeup Show". Later, Perc was promoted to Consultant and Michael would conduct the show.
the bill cosby show (1969 -1972)
Perc started work as Chief Makeup Artist on The Bill Cosby Show in 1968. He developed new makeup techniques and shades specifically created for African-American skin tones.
